How do I identify the programme that is best for my child?

At ALSOWISE®, we cherish the opportunity to identify your child’s strengths and areas for improvement. Children <18 should ideally be put through the same set of topical Lessons and Assessment Quizzes to ensure that their fundamentals are sound. This is why we insist that his/ her first taste of what ALSOWISE® has to offer should be through the Fluency Programme. Once your child has successfully completed this programme, you can elect to enrol him/ her in the Champions Programme.

Why is there a Diagnostic Quiz work at the start of the Programme?

The Diagnostic Quiz attempts to ascertain your child’s current proficiency level and tailor the tenor of the Lessons and the Assessment Quizzes to best suit his/ her development needs and unique abilities with the language. It asks questions from a myriad of topics to make the quiz as comprehensive as possible. Our system then analyses the results to ensure that the ALSOWISE® programme can measure performance and personalise improvement goals for maximum impact.

Where can I find the ALSOWISE® Programme Curriculum?

We do not share a curriculum prior to enrolment, but you may refer to the website www.alsowise.com to learn more about our topical and general language modules on the HOW IT WORKS page.

Once you have enrolled your child in an ALSOWISE® Programme, the Programme curriculum will be available to view in the MY CHILDREN section (under COURSES) of your ALSOWISE® app.

Can I get my child to switch from one Programme level to another midway through a Programme?

No, this is not possible. You may only enrol your child in the Champions Programme after he/ she has successfully completed the Fluency Programme.

How do I accelerate the pace of the Programme to allow my child to complete it in a shorter period of time?

At ALSOWISE®, we believe that there is a steady pace at which the English language can be taught, imbibed and appreciated. Therefore, we discourage the acceleration of any of our Programmes. We do, however, encourage children to complete the prescribed minimum weekly curriculum, though there is no maximum time allotted to completing weekly Lessons and Assessment Quizzes. A selected ReadAlong is available for only one week after the completion of the weekly Lesson.

Please note, however, that no student can advance from one weekly module to another in any Programme until they have completed all the units (Lesson and Assessment Quiz) in the previous module.

Is the AWsum Performance Report an assessment of my child’s grasp of the English language?

The AWsum Performance Report is simply an indicator of your child’s strengths and areas of opportunity, tabulated at the end of the Programme. There are two main indicators – Proficiency and Confidence – that are meant to show you how your child has progressed from the time he/ she took the Diagnostic Quiz to the time that he/ she completed the Programme, relative to his/ her peer set.

Rather than a final assessment of your child’s ability, the AWsum Performance Report is meant to indicate the likely trajectory of your child’s future development in acquiring a mastery of the English language.

What are Supplementary Quizzes?

Supplementary Quizzes are tests that allow your child to further hone his/ her skills in certain topics after the completion of the Programme. As part of the AWsum Performance report, we may recommend certain Supplementary Quizzes you may wish to purchase in order to allow your child further practice.

Each Supplementary Quiz consists of 20 questions and Supplementary Quizzes may be purchased 5 at a time for INR 100 each. Your child may take them as many times as he/ she chooses for 30 days from the date of purchase.

However, in the event that you enrol your child in another ALSOWISE® Programme, access to the Supplementary Quizzes will be automatically rescinded.

Can I enrol my child in a second Programme immediately after completing the first one?

You may automatically enrol your child in the Champions Programme after the successful completion of the Fluency Programme. However, we do recommend a brief hiatus of at least 10 days (but no more than a month) before you enrol him/ her in the Champions Programme.

How much time does my child have to spend on the ALSOWISE® programme each week?

Your child will only need to dedicate between 80 – 90 minutes each week to the programme, and no more than 30 minutes in a day.

Your child will be able to complete a Lesson in about 30 minutes, and the associated Assessment Quiz (which he/ she can only take at least one day after completing the Lesson) in about 20 minutes.

Separately your child can schedule and complete a ReadAlong in about 30 minutes at any time after he/ she has completed the Lesson for the week.
