The ALSOWISE^® Masters Programme: Because adults know why language skills matter

ALSOWISE^® was originally conceived as an essential English improvement App for school students, which could be accessed on both Android and iOS devices. Since English is the global link language for business and higher learning, it was felt that acquiring proficiency and fluency early on would be beneficial to both academic and career progression.

Thanks to the rich feedback from our users and well-wishers, and the chorus of voices demanding something similar for adults, we quickly realised that much of the rich content and many of the same design principles employed in the creation of the Fluency Programme and the Champions Programme could be utilised in a developing a robust programme for more mature users.

As a result, ALSOWISE^® is pleased to announce the launch of the ALSOWISE^® Masters Programme, designed for college students and young working professionals. In addition to 23 modules which focus on reinforcing essential English language skills – grammar, vocabulary, sentence construction, idiomatic expression – there are additional modules that deal with:

1. Writing correctly: focused on writing personal pieces of communication including letters of introduction, acceptance, thanks, and so on
2. Writing clearly: focused on writing descriptive pieces of communication used for the purposes of customer engagement, product marketing and business development
3. Writing compellingly: focused on writing for impact, to influence, convince or secure the support of key stakeholders regarding a specific objective, idea, or point of view

What sets the ALSOWISE^® Programme apart is that it has been designed module by module, with the team writing original Lessons, Quizzes and ReadAlongs, taking care to avoid both the temptation of digitizing available (and often irrelevant or incorrect) content on the one hand, and to develop simple frameworks that could be easily identified by the user and tested and measured by the system, on the other. Furthermore:

• The Lessons have been designed to be fun and engaging, while imparting the nuances of English grammar, vocabulary, and sentence construction
• The Lessons always escalate gradually, and the student gets to dictate the pace of progress
• The student has the option to replay any part of the lesson as many times as required allowing him/her to gain significantly better comprehension of the content without any fear or embarrassment or criticism, as might be experienced in a physical classroom environment
• Dynamic Assessment Quizzes reinforce lesson learning, adapting to the specials needs and abilities of the user
• ReadAlongs develop valuable skills including reading comprehension, knowledge retention and self-learning abilities
• The text in each lesson and ReadAlong is accompanied by a voiceover, to aid pronunciation and enunciation

Spread over 26 weeks, the ALSOWISE^® Masters Programme can play a critically important role in empowering college graduates and working professionals to communicate more effectively and powerfully which, in an age defined by ideas, innovation, entrepreneurship, and opinions, will positively affect their chances of gaining meaningful employment and of setting them on the fast track to career progression.
